These terms cover this website and the waiting list. When the service itself opens, there will be a fuller set of terms covering it, and we'll ask you to read them then.
The most important thing on this page. Paperwork and Peace is not a law firm, we are not attorneys, and nothing we provide is legal advice. We organize information, explain how things generally work, and fill your answers into document templates. Deciding what is right for your family, and making sure a document is valid where you live, is work for a licensed attorney in your state. Using this service does not create an attorney–client relationship, and nothing you tell us is covered by attorney–client privilege.
Today it is a description of a service that is being built, and a form for joining the waiting list. Nothing more. Joining the list doesn't obligate you to buy anything, and it doesn't obligate us to launch.
Any prices shown are what we currently expect to charge. They may change before launch. If you're on the list and the price goes up, we'll honor the price you saw when you signed up.
When it opens, the service is designed to:
It is not designed to, and will not:
A document you produce here is a draft. In every state, a will has to be signed and witnessed in a particular way to have any effect, and some situations need provisions no template can cover. Taking the draft to an attorney is a required step, not a suggestion we're making to be careful.
Some situations are genuinely beyond what any template can handle. If any of these apply to you, see an attorney and treat anything here as background reading only:
Parts of this service use artificial intelligence to explain things, organize what you tell us, and draft routine letters. AI gets things wrong sometimes, including things that look confident and read well. Nothing it produces has been reviewed by an attorney before it reaches you, and none of it is a substitute for professional advice. Check anything that matters.
Where we use AI in our advertising — including voices or video of people who do not exist — we label it as AI-generated.
You agree to give us accurate information, to be at least 18, and to use this service for yourself or for someone who has asked you to act for them. Don't try to break into it, scrape it, resell it, or use it to practice law without a license.
The text, design, and templates on this site belong to us. The information you enter belongs to you, and you can take it with you or have it deleted at any time.
This site is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. We don't promise it will always be available, error-free, or suited to your particular situation.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this site, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you have paid us — which, for the waiting list, is nothing. Some states don't allow those limits, in which case they apply to you only as far as that state permits.
None of this limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud.
These terms are governed by the law of the State of Illinois, and any dispute goes to the state or federal courts sitting in Illinois. If you're a consumer elsewhere, this doesn't take away rights your own state's law gives you.
We may update these terms. The date at the top tells you when we last did. If the change matters, we'll email the waiting list.
